Hudson Heritage Park

Hudson Heritage Park is a master planned, architecturally controlled new community which will be developed on 156 acres located on Route 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie, New York. The developer is Hudson Heritage CPCR Ventures LLC, a joint Venture of Hudson Heritage LLC and the CPCR Opportunity Fund, an affiliate of The Community Preservation Corporation.

The site is a portion of the former Hudson River State Hospital, one of the pioneering asylums constructed in the United States in the mid to late 19th Century. The Main hospital building, constructed between1865-1898 was designed by Frederick Clarke Withers and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1889. The landscape surrounding the Landmark building is attributed to Wither's partners, Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux. The Landmark building and landscape will form the centerpiece of a mixed use development which will include residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality uses.

Hudson Heritage acquired the site in March 2005, returning the site to local tax rolls for the first time since the 1860's. The Company will work with the Town of Poughkeepsie on a rezoning plan to permit the mix of uses contemplated in the development. Development is expected to commence in late 2006.
